Lingerie
Special garments that may be worn alone or under clothing, in order to tantalize the viewer into imagining what is underneath. Lingerie may have begun as the utilitarian (protective, sanitary) undergarment. Lingerie is the high-rent version of underpants and tee shirts, and much is designed to be seen, not hidden. There are exceptions, but most lingerie is worn by women, for the effect it has on men. These mostly tiny wisps of fabric, lace and veil enhance the body while mysteriously covering key parts. The effect is to draw the beholder closer and closer, in hope of eventually unwrapping the body's gifts.
