Kama Sutra
This ancient book is the world's best-known sex manual and was penned by the celibate sage Vatsyayana sometime around 300 AD. Building on the erotic mechanics of sex as practiced in even older Chinese pillow books, the observant mystic added advice on how to seduce a woman, how to tell when she wants you to move in closer, how to tell if her vagina is a good fit for you or not, and more. Along with its successors the Perfumed Garden and the Ananga Ranthe, the Kama Sutra describes multiple ways to make love, rituals for the senses and sex-ercises for him and her.

| The most beautiful part of these books is that they feel both very old, filled with well-established thought, and at the same time, the images are spontaneous and playful, and very much in the moment! The idea that physical love can be an event for all of our senses, not just the genitals, is a key theme. Another main theme worth noting is that sex is worth setting aside time and training for, something with which Ms. P. couldn't agree more. Training to know your body better, and to increase your capacity for pleasure both for yourself and your partner makes a lot of sense. Sex is a "free" and healthy activity when it is between two (or more) loving partners. It is a pure expression of bliss. |
