Bondage
The term bondage originates from the Anglo-Latin bondagium "to inhibit", but in sexual play, ultimately it means safe captivity. The art of tying and binding (or restraining parts of the body) in such a way as to provide heightened sensation can spice up sex when practiced in a safe environment. It's important to have a few agreements between captive and captor before you begin. Have a way to let your captor know if you are experiencing fear or pain instead of pleasure with the use of a safe word (usually something simple and unmistakable like "Red Balloon!"). Study and obey the basic rules of bondage and never leave a bound individual alone, not even for a moment.

| To surrender yourself to another's will and be rendered physically helpless is to experience a marvelous letting go with your partner. When normal body movement is hampered, the bound partner must fully surrender to the free partner as they tease, touch and deliciously "torture" their captive at will. Sexual bondage is very personal and very physical. If you are really feeling brave, try a spread-eagle tie-down with your genitals open on full display for your partner's gaze. The sudden imbalance of power between lovers can be an intoxicating prelude to sex, which is why bondage has developed such a serious following.
