Sex
Sex, in contrast to "making love", is that sparking friction between partners, usually without deep involvement of emotion and spirit. To have sex can be described as "getting off", for some it is best accomplished with a stranger. Without a history or pattern of interaction and no deep knowledge of identity, bodies can just dance. Without heart involvement, some people feel superficially safe as the heart cannot be broken if it is not involved. Sex versus "making love" is not the only distinction made around the act of intercourse. Religious repression of sex for pleasure (any sex act with no intent to procreate) is ancient and enduring, just as enduring as humanity's stubborn refusal to give up sex for fun.
